Cycling Success at Folk Fest

The flow of bicycles was steady all day long. We welcomed and parked 500 bikes in Friday’s rain, 900 in Saturday’s sun, and 800 on Sunday.

Bike Newport coordinated internet information and mapping, dedicated Park ‘n Bike locations in Newport and Middletown, on-road signage to the Fort, bike parking, bike tune-ups, and, new this year – Bike Power: pedal-powered cell phone charging station on the festival grounds.

Thanks to (insert drumroll): Tretorn, People's Credit Union, Newport Bicycle, A2B, Newport Grand, City of Middletown, RIDOT, Newport Police Dept, and 30+ AMAZING volunteers for paving a delightful path for likely more than 1000 cycling folkies.

Let's do it again for Jazz Fest!

Last year, the numbers of cyclists dropped way down for Jazz Fest. What can we expect this year? If you're heading to Jazz Fest on this glorious breezy and clear weekend - make like Tom P and leave the car home. You'll sail past the cars and park your bike at the main gate.  More info HERE.
