FOR IMMEDIATE PRAISE
Thank you so much for praying for our trip to Bogota, Colombia last weekend! We can't thank you or God enough for all the answered prayers. First, we had literally NO effects from the 8,500 foot altitude. Roger preached and taught with no physical difficulty. We can only attribute this to God's intervention and the Colombians who took such good care of us!
We spent the weekend with six couples— three Colombian and three American. The Colombian couples especially drank it all in like thirsty camels. One American missionary, who has served for 34 years and experienced just about everything, said, "I have read Ephesians 5 for many years now, but understanding it like this motivates me to go deeper." How grateful we are for his anchor of experience and willingness to be transparent with all of us. God did indeed prepare the hearts of those at the conference. (Our second prayer was answered.)
One girl shared with the group about her chaotic youth, with no father present, amid an entire community of teens with no regard for parental authority. It was not until she was invited to the home of a Christian classmate that she realized what a home and family could be. Her life was changed forever! She understands better than all of us what a powerful testimony a Christian marriage can be.
The third thing we asked prayer for was our children. Suzy is 10 and Hudson is 12, and sometimes these trips leave them off kilter. God answered our prayers for them. They enjoyed a special weekend with their Aunt Jenny and Uncle Brian while we were in Colombia. Thank you for praying!!
Our summer is still extremely busy. We will be visiting at least 12 supporting churches in the next six weeks. Isaac and Deanna go to college in the next month, and then we head to Chile September 15. Your care for us, notes of concern and prayers are precious. Thank you!
