Hi <<First Name>>!
I hope you are all enjoying your summer and managing to get some needed rest. As a business owner, I know how difficult it is to switch off when I go on holiday, but I also know that taking some time out allows me to look at my business afresh and come up with some new and creative ideas for the way forward!
Position Vacant
I'm delighted to announce that after 5 years trading, I have decided that the time has come to take on my first employee! I'm looking for somebody who would like to be mainly home based, (with some meetings in Faringdon, Oxfordshire) and is looking for part time work of 16 hours a week (with potential to increase to 20 hours) working flexibly 4 or 5 days, Monday - Friday. The salary is £10 / hour. The position requires an interest in marketing and good communication and organisational skills. For more details please
contact me. Applications close on
16th August.
Interview Blog series
The weekly interviews to find out how real businesses are using Social Media are going well. This month, I have spoken to
Anna Ryan from Quilting The Grain,
Caroline Anderson from Business Boots,
Duncan Michael McGregor from Duck on Water,
Chantal Cornelius from Appletree, and
Ellen Watts from ElleRich Training. I would love to
hear from you if you would be interested in being interviewed.
The latest news on Social Media
I have written a couple of guest blogs this month as well as my own. I have written a guest blog for
PleaseTech about how B2B businesses can use Social Media in a strategic way, and a guest blog for the Copywriting Apprentice
blog about dealing with personal attacks on Social Media. On the Concise Training blog, I have discussed the use of
LinkedIn Company Profiles,
how local businesses can use Social Media to help each other, some issues with the latest changes to the link between
YouTube and Google+ (which still haven't been resolved), and the pros and cons of
E-Learning or Face to Face training. I have also commented on Craig Gordon's legal
update on the issues regarding employees collecting LinkedIn contacts and then leaving the company.
Social Media Marketing - What is your focus?
As part of the process of looking at your business afresh (during your summer holiday), it is a good idea to think about why and how you are using Social Media. I see many businesses who dive into Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook without really thinking about 1) who is the audience they are trying to connect with, 2) what they are going to say on the tools to engage with their audience 3) how to create a content plan, 4) how their employees should be using Social Media and what is the Social Media Policy for the business, 5) how is the success of Social Media going to be measured and 6) what Social Media tools should they be using.
To help you create a social media marketing strategy for your business, I have a
course running in Faringdon, Oxfordshire on
19th September, 9am to 1pm - or I can help you on a bespoke basis if this would be more appropriate.
Contact me to book your place or to discuss your individual requirements.
Finally
Please forward or share this newsletter with anybody you know who might be interested in the position at Concise Training and have a great rest of the summer.
