Home Nations Champions

Having barely touched back down onto home soil, England Touch Association caught up with our President, Gregg Cropper, on his feelings and initial thoughts in the aftermath of Home Nations 2013 in Dublin, Ireland:

“WOW, what an amazing weekend! 6 out of 8 categories won and 2nd place in the other 2, an amazing result and testament to the hard work everybody has put in over the last 12 months.

England won both the Open and Senior categories and now stand European and Home Nations champions!

On behalf of the ETA, I personally just want to say huge thanks and congratulations to everyone who’s been involved in the #HN2013 campaign.

NTS / CTS Roundup

As we've been busy planning, playing and partying, we've not had chance to update you all on the last few comps that have taken place, so please take a look at what's been going on in the last few months.

Halton Touch - CTS #3

The start of the day did not look promising with grey clouds looming. However, the North West of England didn’t falter and was drenched in glorious sunshine more suited to a scene from Eldorado than Widnes!

With the sun shining, people left the safety of the gazebos to watch friends and foes go toe to toe. Alas only 4 trophies could be won on the day.

Chargers host sun drenched NTS #4
Manchester Chargers hosted the penultimate leg in the National Touch series, and what a day it was too!
The sun was shining, referees were upgraded (Sadi Musson L1, Graham Smith L2, Matthew Walker L2) and the Touch on show was some of the best experienced this season.

Canterbury Cougars host CTS #4
Saturday 13th July saw Canterbury Rugby Club host, the fourth tournament, in the  ‘CTS Touch’ series.
Canterbury entered three teams Canterbury Cougars, Canterbury Cubs and Canterbury Touch.  The Cubs made it through into the knockout stages which is a fantastic effort as several of the girls on the team had never played in a competitive Touch game before.

On a glorious summer day, in the garden of England, all teams battled with not only the opposition but also the sweltering temperatures.
In the last game of the day Canterbury Cougars took on Wookies. In a closely fought contest, the game was an end to end running battle, in both defence and attack. See results and photos here: http://bit.ly/13GZnh9

FINALS
The finals were hosted in Bristol on the 27th of July. Congratulations to London Galaxy for winning the 2013 NTS

and CSSC Wookies on their promotion from NTS to CTS
