Hi <<First Name>>,

Sorry we haven't sent out an update for a while but we've been busy beavering away getting our new online booking system up and running (and a few bugs worked out in the process).

We're still evolving the system as we work out which bits work, which we need, and what is superfluos but please feel free to check out the new options on the site, or see below for more details.

Emma and Antony are off on holiday but Denise will be covering in the interim, though there will only be a few classes taking place the week of 26th August - more details below.

Social Dancing
Summer Break

Antony and Emma are off on their annual leave for a few weeks from 19th August, but Denise will be covering most of their classes in their absence.

Denise herself will be away the week of 26th August so only Wednesday Zumba
Gold, and Friday Over 50s will take place that week.

Please check the website if you are unsure whether your class is running, but it's only the week of 26th that most classes won't take place.

During the break it may take us slightly longer than usual to respond to phone calls or emails so please bear with us.

MindBody Logo
New Online Booking Now Live

We are partnering with MindBody online to bring you a brand new online booking system for our classes/private lessons and social events.

The new system has gone live, and those that have had private lessons within the last few weeks will hopefully have appreciated the new confirmation emails and reminders etc.

Registering for the online system is easy, and if you've been to our classes since the system went live some of your details may already be registered on the system.

You just need to enter your first and last name initially and if the system picks up an account with your name it will ask you to enter some further details to confirm if you are the same person, if not then you can then register a new account.  To protect your personal details one of our staff members still needs to verify that the details agree before any sensitive information can be seen.

Registering has additional benefits as we plan to  introduce a points redemption for registered users in the near future where things such as attending classes or recommending new students will award you points that you can use to pay for our products and services.

Once registered you can then search for and book private lessons online, book onto any of our classes and workshops, or sign up for our social events and dance breaks.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or problems using the new system.

Potential Trial of New Wednesday Night Venue

As we have been mentioning for a while, we have been looking for a replacement for our Eton Wick venue for a Wednesday evening, to allow us to have uninterrupted regular classes

We think we may have found a suitable replacement for the moment, and have asked whether we can run a trial session there on Wednesday 11th September.

The new venue is the King George VI Day Centre, Clarence Road, Windsor, SL4 5AR.  We are just waiting for confirmation from them that this would be ok, prior to us agreeing a long-term arrangement.

Should this date not be available there will be no dancing on the evening of Wednesday 11th September as our Eton Wick venue is unavailable.  If the trial goes ahead, and is acceptable, we will look at moving the classes probably from October.

Please keep an eye on the website for details.

Merengue
Introduction to Mambo Workshop

Yes the dance made famous by Dirty Dancing will be the subject of our next one-off workshop on Sunday 15th September.  Please note there will definitely be no attempts at THE lift!!!

These introduction workshops run from 1.30pm-3.30pm and cost £20 per person (£30 for a couple dancing together).

They cover the basics of the dance as well as trying to give you a basic routine you can use to get around the floor.

Workshops are a great way to concentrate on learning just one dance.

We expect these workshops to be quite popular so advance booking is recommended as spaces are limited.

Mambo is another Cuban dance and so shares a great number of similarities with the Salsa, Cha Cha Cha & Rumba.

You can book onto the workshop via our Online Booking system, or by contacting us.

NATD Logo
Next Exam Session & Inter-School Competition

Learn To Dance offers exams under the NATD (National Association of Teachers of Dancing).  Our next exam session will be held on Sunday 27th October in our Eton Wick venue.

Exams are a great way to give yourself a target in your learning.  Our starter exams are very easy and are designed to give you an experience of the exam scenario, as well as the confidence to push your dancing further and can be taken even if you have only attended our beginner classes.

The exams start from £14 and generally at least a few private lessons are recommended to prepare.  When you pass an exam you receive your grade form with marks and feedback, a certificate, and a medal (dependant on exam entered).

The completion of exams also opens up the possibility of entering Inter-School Competitions, a chance to compete against other students at the same grade from other schools.

The next competition takes place on Sunday 10th November at the K2 Leisure Centre, Crawley, RH11 9BQ.  Entrance is £10 per person and even if you aren't interested in competing you can always come along and support the students that are.

We may look into organising group transport if enough students are interested in attending, so let us know if you'd like to come along.
