BRAMFORD COMMUNITY GARDEN

Busy, Busy in the Garden

11th August 2013

Hello All

Do hope you're enjoying the lovely mild weather.

It seems like a lot has been going on with the garden recently. Firstly, we featured on a FULL page in Wandsworth's Brightside Magazine.

We also had a great Wednesday evening session with Garden Designer, Henrietta Gentilli, who kindly gave her time to go over sections of the garden in detail with us, giving expert advice and inspiration.  We learned a lot!    She's joining us again to go through the rest of the garden this coming Wednesday 14th Aug at 7pm.

A particular hit this summer has been the sedum (left).  When many of the other plants are fading at this time of the year, this hardy variety is blooming a lovely pink colour.  We bought it specifically as a drought tolerant plant, since we have no on-site water, and it's clearly a happy bunny!

So this Sunday, anyone who wants to come down and help out with the weeding, dead-heading, thinning and cutting back, or just a pleasant wander around, you're very welcome.

For an extra bit of enjoyable reading and some wonderful pictures, take a look at The Enduring Gardener site - all about cottage gardens.

Hope to see you soon.

Best wishes
Miranda
