Beyond Borders - An Exhibition of Fine Art from Canada - 11 Artists
Smolder 36x55
Eleven sensual, reserved and introspective figurative paintings were offered for this exhibition.
Shipping all of them was a nail biter. One very large tube made the 3000 mile journey. They arrived safely and have been re-mounted in time for the October 4-24 show. The Opening Reception is October 10, 2013. I will unfortunately not be attending. If you happen to go, I would love to hear about your experience!

Tasso Lake
Tasso Lake just about touches the western border of Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario. This was the view from my husband’s family cottage in the 1970's, a place that holds many fine memories…
Humidity is pretty much ever-present there; the sky is almost as moisture-filled as the lake.

Navajo Arch
I find the red sandstone of Arches National Monument in Utah to be a beautifully fierce place with searing days and freezing nights. Everything there is sharp, both in touch and appearance. In this painting the light is so intense it bleaches out what it strikes and permeates the dark reaches of the entrance to this slot canyon.
