Launch of RCREEE's first Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX)
26 September 2013, RCREEE will launch its first Arab Future Energy Index (AFEX) at at Beirut Energy Forum. AFEX is the first native Arab index dedicated to monitoring and analyzing sustainable energy competitiveness in the Arab region through quantitative and qualitative analysis for key renewable energy and energy efficiency market dimensions.Countries are ranked under more than 20 indicators that illustrate key energy market aspects including policies, institutional and technical capacities, strategies, socioeconomic data and investments. RCREEE executive director, Dr. Emtairah along with two policy analysts will be presenting the index key findings and tailored recommendations for 13 Arab states to help improve their sustainable energy competitiveness.

RCREEE at Closing Conference of the Paving the Way for the Med Solar Plan ( PWMSP) Project
Madrid, 27-28 August the closing conference of PWMSP presented results to the various stakeholders involved in the project and discussed how the results can be used for the way forward in achieving the objectives of the future Mediterranean Solar Plan (MSP). RCREEE participated in the meeting through the Executive Director, Dr. Tareq Emtairah who presented RCREEE’s position on how to maintain momentum on the recommendations of the project after its closure. Emtairah also re-iterated RCREEE’s unique position as a regional support center and its commitment to follow up on the renewable energy road maps that were developed in the context of the PWMSP.

RCREEE/enerMENA Professional Training Course for CSP
Amman,RCREEE in close co-ordination with enerMENA project and based on DLR long experience in Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) organized a four day training course for CSP project planners and managers. With 16 attendees, representing the governmental and the private sector, the course tackled many important topics including CSP technologies and projects and an overview of existing CSP projects.Member states representatives provided a presentation on the current statues of CSP projects and technologies in their states.
