How has the Fall started for you?  I'd love to hear!
Please write and tell me how I can be praying for you!
In August, I shared some prayer requests...
See the ANSWERS to prayer below!

I asked for prayer as I prepared Angie
for a successful overseas experience –
PRAYER ANSWERED: After many sessions of pre-field training with Angie - she is now in S. America serving for the next 2 months on a Discovery Internship!

I asked for prayer for continued growth for Jason and me, as we prepare for marriage - PRAYER ANSWERED: From learning to stay connected while in different states (picture below with my cousins' kids in Delaware), to the frustration of uprooting a major bush in my yard, Jason and I continue to learn what life together will look like!  As part of our pre-marital counseling, we wrote marriage goals so we have firm scaffolding for the structure of our marriage!  72 days!  Continue to pray for us!

I asked for prayer for wedding logistics- since my sister had a crucial University of Delaware orchestra dress rehearsal on the same night as the wedding.
PRAYER ANSWERED  - My sister not only placed 2nd in the orchestra this semester (woohoo!) and is assistant to the concert master, but she also found out there is no rehearsal scheduled for the evening of my wedding now!  Yay!!!

I asked for prayer for the right home for Jason and me –
PRAYER ANSWERED:  After searching, we are excited to share that we have settlement on a perfect home for Jason and me next week!  Continue to pray that all goes through with the final paperwork!

Three more prayer requests for September:

(1) Tomorrow I leave for Liberty University.  I will be assisting with a NEXT STEPS weekend – designed specifically for students interested in overseas work.  Representatives from several organizations (myself included) will serve as mentors as these students face the realities of what serving God overseas may require of them.  Pray for colleagues, Jan, Andy, & Sarah as we invest in the lives of these students.

(2) Pray for connections with colleagues in South Asia - planning and coordinating a trip there for next summer requires flexibility, creativity and clear communication with all involved.

(3) Pray for my colleague Shevawn as she leads me through team leader training over the next two months.  This training will prepare me to lead a team overseas.

“The more isolated and disconnected we are, the more shattered and distorted our self-identity. We are not healthy when we are alone. We find ourselves when we connect to others. Without community we don't know who we are...
When we live outside of healthy community, we not only lose others. We lose ourselves...

Who we understand ourselves to be is dramatically affected for better or worse by those we hold closest to us.”
~ Erwin Raphael McManus

---------------------------------------

I’m thankful for the community of my roommates – Above is a picture of a roommate breakfast we enjoyed last week!  These girls have provided stability and made my house a home this past year- I am thankful for the time I’ve had with them and will definitely miss them when I get married!

I’m thankful for the community of our church – Jason and I prayed for new friends within our new church last Saturday night, and the next day, a dear lady invited us to lunch the following week.  Of course God knows what we want and need… it seemed like He was just waiting for us to ask for it!

I'm thank you for the community of all of you - partnering with me to get God's Word to those who have never had it!!
