Please ride with caution out there.  Most cars do not see us very well so we need to make sure we obey the traffic laws and keep a safe distance.  Please pay close attention to your surroundings and give aloha by a simple thank you wave or shaka when cars are passing.  Also SAFETY ALERT Please view @ http://www.hawaiicyclingclub.com/safety-alert.html

Congrats to HCC Sean Maynard for an 8th place overall with a speedy time of 5:18:33 at the DEMRR!!!

HCC is currently seeking board members which have interest in creating projects/events.  Candidates do not have to be cyclists or even athletes but rather skills to manage and organize.  All interested please contact hawaiicyclingclub@gmail.com.

September 14th will be the Wiliwili festival which will host a beginner, intermediate and advance biking clinic. Please bring a mountain or hybrid bike.  Must wear your helmet so please bring it as well  Please contact Richard Bell for clinic info and more info on the festival @ http://waikoloadryforest.org/2013/wiliwili-festival-2013

September 21st will be our longest and second to last time trial 22.2 miles of the season which you don't want to miss!

October 5th will be a Community Ride on the new Saddle Bypass Road.  More details

DescriptionFirst Friday night ride meets at 8:30pm and roll out at 8:45pm from the parking lot near Lava Java Waikoloa Village Center. Ride meets first friday of every month. Night ride, lights, cruise pace, friendly conversation. Hills of Waikoloa village might require better gearing than beach cruisers and pace both up and down these hills will be a little fast. Still a casual ride, but a casual ride for people with some riding experience. Helmets required but lycra not necessary! Riding for ~1.5 hrs, route varies.

DescriptionWDFI is hosting the 2013 Wiliwili Festival on Saturday September 14th. The Wiliwili Festival will be a fun, free educational event for all ages. We will be hosting forest tours, workshops, and kid’s activities in addition to promoting awareness of Hawaiian dry forest ecosystems, the species that live within them and the cultural, ecologic and intrinsic value of our native forests. Please join us!

Parking will either be at location (if available) or at the Waikoloa intersection. 8am is the start time from Belt Road & New Saddle Bypass Road so get there early if parking at Waikoloa intersection as it's a few miles away. Approx 10 miles one way on an out and back.
