As you know, in just over a week (September 12), we will be hosting our annual Investor Day at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. A copy of the press release we issued this morning can be accessed here.
I have attached some comments below to help you plan for the meeting; but first, please note these two VERY IMPORTANT items:

We typically have more than 200 attendees, and we expect a very large number of people given the proximity to the Morgan Stanley Health Care conference. Please note, prior registration is REQUIRED:

The morning session begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp, and I urge you to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m.
Our agenda will be a bit different than in years past - In addition to our usual product display, we will have clinical panels featuring leading KOL physicians, case studies, and early stage growth opportunities.
So that all guests will have an opportunity to view each event, attendees will be broken out into three groups, which will be assigned when you are given your registration badge. You will be escorted to all three concurring sessions. Everyone will get a chance to see all of the presentations.
VERY IMPORTANT: Given the number of people and the tight schedule of events, I am asking that you please arrive on time and respect the specific group you are assigned to. There will be a large amount of information in the morning, and the only way we can get everyone to all the different sessions is to keep you in your respective groups. The breakout rooms we are using have strict size and capacity limits, and the only way to get everyone through every session is to abide by these groups.

After the formal portion of the meeting is over, senior management will be staying until 6:00 p.m. for an informal session. Please join us for cocktails and to make sure we have answered any and all of your questions before the day is over.

Panel I – Covidien Case Studies – Technology That Enhances Patient Safety (Case studies followed by Q&A);

Panel II – Covidien’s Early Stage Growth Opportunities (Several short presentations followed by Q&A).
These panels will run in concurring sessions until formal presentations begin at approximately 2:20pm
12:30pm – 1:00pm – lunch break
1:00pm – 2:10pm: Product Display and session panels continue
2:20pm: Formal presentations commence. The Live webcast will begin at this time.
3:25pm: Q&A (Business Presidents)
4:05pm: 2014 Guidance discussion. We will be issuing a press release with details of the numbers after the close of NYSE trading at 4:00.
4:30pm: Q&A (CEO and CFO)
5:00pm: Investor Day concludes; cocktail reception 5:00pm – 6:00pm
For those of you who will not be there in person, the presentation slides from both the morning sessions and the afternoon session will be available on our website concurrent with the presentations. Note that while only the afternoon session will be webcast live, we will be recording the morning presentations and posting them to our website shortly after the meeting is over.
