Attention Third-Year Juniors & Graduating Seniors!

Deadlines are quickly approaching for our upper division Honors students!  If you are a junior-level student, you should be filling
out your Program of Study sheets and submitting them to your college Honors committee this semester.  Similarly, if you are a
senior-level student, your Honors committee needs your Honors project proposals this fall.

Third-Year Juniors: Program of Study sheets are due Tuesday, Oct. 1. Visit your college's website for more information,
including forms and where to take your completed information:
Engineering, Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Design, BusinessAgriculture and Life Sciences

Graduating Seniors: Turn in your Honors project proposals by Monday, Sept. 23. Contact your college's Honors staff (listed on
the websites above), or stop by the front desk upstairs if you have any questions!

Engineering students: The College of Engineering has scheduled a face-to-face Honors Orientation session for Thursday,
September 19 from 5:10-6:00pm in 2055 Hoover.  Engineering Honors students need to attend the Orientation session before
moving on to their Program of Study and Project forms.  Attend the Orientation if you have not attended an orientation session to
date, or if you would like more information about Engineering's recently approved Program of Study.  Review the new Program of
Study here (http://www.engineering.iastate.edu/engrhonors/program-of-study/) before the orientation so you can bring questions!

This Friday: Honors Salon #2 with Larry Genalo

Honors has a real-life wizard: Materials Engineering's Dr. Larry Genalo will be the featured speaker at this Friday, September 20 at 3:10pm in the Jischke Lounge.  Larry will present on "Cool Stuff," which will include many demonstrations including changing a material's atomic structure.  Materials will be set on fire or cooled in liquid nitrogen...examples from real-world events such as the Challenger and Columbia Shuttles and Titianic will be explored.  Stop by for milk and cookies and Mat E!

Get Involved On Campus!

Mark your calendar: Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) would like to invite you to their annual Mock Clinic Night on Tuesday, October 1st from 5:30-7:30pm at the Thielen Student Health Center.

Students will have a chance to interact and network with healthcare providers from various areas of the health center. Physicians, physical therapists, pharmacists and nurses are available to talk with students about their professions and their paths in getting to where they are today.

The night begins with a pizza dinner and conversation with the healthcare providers. Dinner leads into observing mock demonstrations, similar to a shadowing experience, based upon each student's interest area.

If interested in attending this year's event, please register here: https://docs.google.com/a/iastate.edu/forms/d/1adg09g_ziPiILcE2e3tgyWH4WNib_trRPk9mlJQcLtk/viewform.
