Belly dance, live music, and shows...OH MY!
Nina Amaya has been studying Middle Eastern Dance since 1997. She has been trained in Egyptian cabaret and folk dance, Turkish belly dance,  American belly dance and Bollywood. She has performed at festivals, restaurants, family parties, children's parties, parades, and galas across the region, and has been featured by the local press.
In addition to directing both the marvelous belly dance troupe Aubergine and The Brinjal Band, Nina also entertains as a faerie and as other mythological beasts! As one of Baltimore's top belly dancers, she is guaranteed to entertain and delight!

Saturday, November 2nd! Nina will be teaching Dancing with a Live Band at the Pittsburgh Bellydance Festival. Be sure to check out the other workshops and the bellydance competitions! Aubergine's own Alizarin will be competing in both the live music and recorded music events!

October 20: Fez Tones Hafla, Greenbelt, MD: Nina headlines, more dancers, too! Live music from the Fez Tones!
October 26: Goblins and Gears Fantasy Ball, Glen Burnie, MD. Steampunk Ball invaded by Goblins and Faeries, featuring Aubergine and Brinjal! This event is made even better by being a charity for MS research!
November 2: Pittsburgh Bellydance Festival, Pittsburgh, PA - Nina co-teaching “How to Dance to Live Music” with Ishtar, and Alizarin will be competing!
November 8-10: FaerieCon East with the Aubergine faeries! Shows are Saturday and Sunday at 2; and a children’s dance class with Nina.
November 10: Brinjal rocks Joe Squared North! Pizza, beer, and some of your favorite bellydance songs. Come on down!
December 1st: "Kids Raq" at the Kitchen of India; a children’s dance show!
December 12: "12 Days of Christmas!" at The Hippo - Aubergine always does something awesome at this very interesting variety show!
December 31st: "New Years Eve at Noon" at Port Discovery, Baltimore, MD. Face painting, dancing, mask making, and the ball drops at noon.
Brinjal!
In case you haven't heard the news, Aubergine has sprouted off a new "growth"- The Brinjal Band! Brinjal is directed by Nina Amaya, and currently consists of
darbuka, riq, 2 flutes and a guitar; brought to you by Heather Amos, Josh Novac, Jawhara, and Illya. Already Brinjal has delighted audiences at Artscape, Avalonfest, AKIMBO, Kitchen of India, and The Crazy Russian! We are open to collaborations with other musicians.

Kitchen of India! Each Friday night at 8pm, Nina Amaya, Alizarin, or Amy Fae will dance; no cover charge, just order delicious Indian Food! Reservations recommended.
