Dear Fellow Luthier,
The recent Healdsburg Guitar Festival in Santa Rosa, California was a success! Two of my high end concert classical guitars, that I highlighted recently in my newsletter, found homes at the festival. They were the Brazilian rosewood classical and the Indian rosewood classical with the arm bevel.
I hit the ground running after the festival and have spent the last 10 days in my shop with expert electric guitar builder Mike Snider of
Snider Guitars, building and filming the construction of two electric guitars, a tele style and a carved top Les Paul style. We spent 15 hours a day filming what will become an online electric guitar building course which will be available via
my website. Mike brings his vast knowledge and artistic abilities into my shop and shows everything you need to know to design, build and finish you own electric guitar. He even covers inlay and pickup winding in great detail. Here are some pictures of the guitars Mike built this week for the video. I hope to have the editing done and the course available by the end of the year.
Speaking of end of the year, I still have time to offer one more classical or steel string guitar building class in my shop in November or December of this year. Next year I will be increasing the prices of my one on one guitar building instruction. So, if you want to schedule some time this year before the increase there is still one more chance. Contact me for more questions or to reserve dates on my teaching calendar. I will be announcing my 2014 teaching schedule in December.
