We were lucky enough to spend time with our oldest daughter Laura and her husband Eric at their new house in Rock Hill, SC. They not only have a beautiful southern home but a terrific deck and a gorgeous backyard - I just love all those trees. We also traveled to historic Charleston,SC to see our son play soccer and Greenville, SC where we lived for six years and got to see our old neighbors. All the way around a fantastic trip!

Painted tissue and rice papers, cheese cloth, gesso and stamping will add to the fun! More info for this and all workshops on my website

Encaustics - Something New!

Last week I decided to try something new creatively and treated myself to an all day Encaustics Workshop up in Denver, CO. Encaustics is painting with hot, melted  beeswax and we spent the day experimenting with all sorts of fun techniques on small pieces of card stock. I loved learning something new, bonding with other creative souls and just spending a cold, rainy day playing around. Camille Scott did a wonderful job of providing all the supplies we needed, giving great demos and firing up our artistic juices. If you ever have a chance to take a workshop from her go for it - you can check out her teaching schedule and encaustic supplies for sale on her website.

Kneaded Eraser

I always use a kneaded eraser when I am sketching on watercolor paper because it won't scar the painting surface and you don't have any little eraser crumbs to brush away. They can be found at any art or hobby store and are very inexpensive. When you take it out of the package you can knead it into a ball to warm it up for easier erasing.

New From My Website

One of the many wonderful things about living in Colorado is watching the aspen tree leaves turn bright gold in the fall.
