UAE Foreign Minister Calls For Stability In The Region At The 68th UNGA


In his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan called for a peaceful settlement with Iran regarding the occupied islands issue; stressed the need for greater international action on the conflict in Syria; and encouraged moderation and development in Egypt as a means to strengthen regional and international security. Etihad Airways Sponsors Events DC Nation's Triathlon


During a VIP reception at the UAE Embassy, Events DC Nation's Triathlon Officials, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society representatives, diplomats and triathletes celebrated a new partnership with Etihad Airways and growing cooperation between the Nation's and Tri Yas Abu Dhabi triathlons. Etihad recently launched nonstop "capital to capital" service between Washington, D.C. and Abu Dhabi, demonstrating deep commercial and cultural ties between the two cities. Learn More >

UAE Appoints Its First Female Envoy To United Nations


At the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Her Excellency Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh presented her credentials to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. She is the UAE's first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and the fifth woman in the country to serve as an ambassador.  Learn More >

THIS MONTH IN HISTORY

On October 25, 1985, Emirates Airline launched its first flights from Dubai. Its first destinations were in Pakistan and India.  


UPCOMING EVENTS

OCTOBER 17 - NOVEMBER 8, 2013

The FIFA U-17 World Cup UAE 2013 will take place at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, featuring 52 matches played over three weeks. It is the largest football event ever held in the Emirates.



NOVEMBER 1 - NOVEMBER 3, 2013

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Featuring a scenic track and top speeds of 320 km/h, the race is also one of the few featured venues to run counterclockwise.


NOVEMBER 17 - NOVEMBER 21, 2013

The Dubai Airshow will take place at Dubai World Central in Dubai. It is the leading forum in the Middle East for promoting and discussing issues related to the region's aviation industry. This year's show will include a special "green" area to examine carbon trading, biofuels, emissions and technology.
