We've Gone Red! Discover the Power of ColorSee the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery like you’ve never seen it before, covered in red. Cue the colorful conversations for Red: Discover the Power of Color, which opens October 4. Stop in to share your response to the color red.
Paintings, ceramics, textiles, books as art and prints help you discover the power of red. Themes emerge that allow you to reflect on this color. Love, good luck, prestige, anger and war are represented in both contemporary and traditional artwork from the permanent collection.
"We hope to spark a dialogue with the community about how color is perceived. The exhibit explores the diverse meanings and emotional ties we have to the color,” said Zan Popp, Sabatini Gallery’s curator.
Various pieces of art on display illustrate how one color can have conflicting meanings and symbols. See some examples on the exhibit's webpage.
