Fall: The Metal Element

View this email in your browser
Classical Acupuncture concentrates on the connection between ourselves and the rhythm of nature's seasons

Each season corresponds to a particular element: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.  These elements influence, nurture and sustain us. We have all the elements within us but one that is our causative factor (CF).  Our causative factor is the lens through which we view life.

Classical Chinese medicine teaches that physical, mental and spiritual health is dependent on the balance of these elements.

Imbalance of the elements is expressed through symptoms such as pain, illness, disease, addiction and emotional suffering.

I practice acupuncture to help heal the body, mind, and spirit by restoring the natural harmony of the elements.

Autumn is the time of the metal element.  The earth, animals and people naturally start to slow down and turn inward.

The weather changes, the trees lose their leaves and we tuck into our homes.  It is the season when we take the time and space to reflect on our values.  Are our actions and choices aligned with them?

Now is the time to reflect on and honor what is important, inspiring and valuable. After evaluating, you need to let go of activities, internal voices, choices; whatever is getting in the way of you living your values.

A characteristic of Metal is to seek perfection.  Now is a good time to forgive the imperfections and allow yourself to grieve what has been lost.

Take the time in this season to connect to your higher power: whatever it may be that helps you to establish order and create a framework for your world.
 WHEREABOUTS UNKOWN

Every moment is a taste of that beauty in our mouths,
another stashed in a pocket.

Impossible to say what: no cypress so handsome,
no sunlight, a lonely hiddenness.

Other pleasure gathers a crowd, starts a fight, lots of noise there.

But soul beauty stays quiet.
Shams and his amazing whereabouts unknown inside my heart.
