Lesson 50: Reflect on God's Grace
God’s great love extends to all believers in general.
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God
But think about His love for you as an individual, His mercy regarding your specific sins. He knows my secret sins, yet He still loves me. Remember God’s provision & protection in your life, how He has helped & taught you.
1 Kings 11:9 the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
Think about the blood of Christ, and why He died for us, for you.
2 Cor.5:14-15 the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, (why?) so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but live for him, who died for their sake and was raised.
Think about how your sin grieves the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Eph.4:30 do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
