Lesson 49: Reflect on God's Goodness
Deut.32:6 Is this how you repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Isn't he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?
Every sin is a slap to God’s face. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you, the One who created you and faithfully cares for you. Think about the punishment your sin deserves.
Heb.10:29-31 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? We know that God said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And also, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Think about God’s love and kindness. We should want to grow in holiness, out of reverence for God.
2 Cor.7:1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
