Are You Ready To Be Tweaked?

Forward to a Friend

Special K asks, “What will you gain when you lose? “

Who knew a cereal commercial slogan could be inspirational?  But it got me thinking. So often we hold onto things/beliefs/people because we are afraid of losing security/love/status, etc. But what does it cost us not to periodically assess and stop to ask if less might just be more?

What might we have to gain by losing that which may no longer be in our best interest?

Two Tweaking Tips

Lose the clutter. Gain Clarity.

Share (“lose”) your (over) abundance and gain space, clarity, and be less stressed. Try this exercise for the next 30 days:
  1. Grab a garbage bag and box and create 2 categories: ready for the trash and to be donated.
  2. Each day identify one item you no longer want and/or need. If it’s ready for the trash, dump it that day in the garbage bag and don’t look back. If it’s a donation item, write it down and place it in the box.
  3. At the end of the 30 days, deliver the donation items to the intended charity and keep the list and receipt for tax purposes. Leave the garbage bag for pick up after taking a moment to acknowledge what you’ve accomplished and experience feeling lighter.
By the time the 30 days are up, you will be well on your way to starting a new habit, and, hopefully, will be more aware as you make future purchases by asking “Do I really need or want this item?”

Lose emotions which no longer serve you well. Gain Energy.

Are you holding anger, resentment, fear, worry, or irritation that has become detrimental to your physical and mental well-being over a particular person or situation from the past? Do you even remember how things got started or know what is really bothering you? Is so, decide to either take the steps necessary to resolve the issue or release it so you can channel that energy to the present moment or some future goal.
