COLLEGE PREPEnhances youth knowledge about the SAT, financial/scholarship acquisition and the application process. Moreover, youth learn the fundamentals of college enrollment and participation including test-taking strategies and anxiety management through their participation in practice test-taking sessions.

FINANCIAL LITERACYFocuses on developing youth competencies in the following areas:
  • Money Management
  • Banking, Responsible use of Credit
  • Introduction to the Financial Market

The Main College Bound Program for Youth Ages 10-18!

The Main College Bound Program is one of 9 youth programs offered by Institute for the Development of African- American Youth, Inc.

The Main Program is a culturally based enrichment program which consists of five principle workshops: Roots, Trends, Leadership Training, Financial Literacy, and College Preparatory.

The Main Program offers more than 100 youth, ages 10 through 18 years, an opportunity to explore Multicultural American history, examine current trends in urban communities, engage in cultural college field trips, and much more!

ROOTS – Historical contributions of Multi-ethnic groups to increase knowledge & improve self-esteem with a strong sense of cultural pride and identity.

TRENDS – Economic & political issues that plague urban America. Interactive role playing and guest lectures helps make themselves less susceptible to pitfalls.

LEADERSHIP – Teaches youth how to be leaders, build coalitions & organize communities through executed projects including fundraisers.
