Showcasing the beauty of the human spirit - in mid air - around the world

"Look at everything as though you are seeing it for the first time, with eyes of a child, fresh with wonder."  ― Joseph Cornell

Hello lovely people...

Many of you have been following along on with my project from the very beginning just over a year ago and I would love to hear from you...

I have 2 questions for you this week:

1. Who is your greatest inspiration? Why?

2. Who would you love to see in a photo jumping for joy?

please post your answers on my
facebook page or twitter account

In case you missed it on my blog... I did a write up in Expanding Times. Thank you Sandhan :)

Featured jumper of the week: BROOKE LEIFSOLike Jump for Joy! Featuring Brooke Leifso on Facebook

BROOKE LEIFSO ...
Live: I live in Edmonton, and have lived most of my life in Alberta.
Work: I create performance pieces, often blended: performance art, theatre to create what we call "weirdo theatre".

Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A: I love creating performance from scratch, facilitating the group process: to have people feel held and their best creatively.

Q. Your experience doing jumping photos?
A: This was so much fun! Eyoalha made me look like a super hero!

Q: What inspires you in life?
A: I am inspired by stillness and subtlety. I am inspired by slipping into a stream of seeing everything as having a quality of the magical.

Q: Your greatest passion?
A: I am a fairly passionate person about a variety of things: unravelling the oppressive structures we live under, attempting to understand the society around us and change it, how to create awesome group structure, creating performance that's meaningful.

To me, it all jives when I'm directing/creating a performance piece: how can we say something meaningful that will enable people to drop into a different perspective, to look at their life in a way they can't on a regular basis. I am shifting from being an Activist that protests, to striving to create my art through anti-oppressive means.

Q: Your driving force?
A: My driving force is to be a better human being in my time on the earth. To learn from my mistakes, to be reflective and reach my maximum potential, while remaining open-hearted and having integrity.

Q: Your philosophy?
A: To gain as much awareness as possible: process and unravel. Destroy the ego! Value vulnerability!

Q: Anything in the world?
A: This is beautiful. If I could do anything in the world, I would just create art. I would be confident and tame the beast of my self-consciousness. I've currently quit my day job as a non-profit administrator and plunged in deep into creating my own art work. Next step is grants, free-lance work and making more friends to make radical performance!

Q:
What are you working on?
A: I'm at The Haven in Gabriola, doing workshops and creating a solo piece. You can follow it at:
