The European Innovation Partnership for agricultural productivity and sustainability to stimulate innovation in agriculture
The key challenge for agriculture in future is not only to increase its productivity, but also to do this in a sustainable manner. These challenges will not be resolved without a major push towards embracing research and innovation. In order to facilitate communication on innovation and to allow the sharing of knowledge and experience in agriculture across the EU, the European Commission, Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development has launched the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability'. Seven partners from different European countries formed a consortium to run the EIP AGRI Service Point under the leadership of Vlaamse Landmaatschappij (VLM – Flemish Land Agency). The EIP AGRI Service Point is proud to provide professional input, research, advice and support for the agricultural future, covering a broad range of expertise, including different types of farming, research, networking and communication, farmers’ advisory systems, land consolidation and banking, land and nature development, environmental and agricultural policy, as well as the management and implementation of rural development measures. Seminar 'Programming Innovation'
How to use the Rural Development Toolkit most effectively for the implementation of the EIP
On 26 – 27 June 2013 DG Agriculture and Rural Development invited national / regional Managing Authorities to a technical seminar organized by the EIP-AGRI Service Point in Madrid. Managing authorities were able to improve their understanding of the guidelines and legal provisions for the EIP, to take stock of ‘who is where’ in EIP programming issues, to learn about some models of implementation which could serve as examples for programming and to learn from and exchange ideas with the participants. EIP-AGRI Focus groups ready to start
EIP-AGRI Focus groups will explore practical innovative solutions to problems or opportunities in the field, draw on experience made with related useful projects and aim at the sharing and exchange among actors involved in those projects (researchers, farmers, advisers etc.).. Read more
