You did it! You joined us and 21,000 other people in calling for the mental health budget to be protected in Budget 2014 and sent a strong message to Government. We secured a commitment of an additional €20 million for community mental health services.  The Government did not honour its commitment to invest a full, additional €35 million for community mental health services in 2014 so we need to keep on pushing for mental health services that help people to recover and live a full life and we need your help!
Mental Health Reform’s Do What Works campaign was about ordinary people coming together to demand investment in community-based mental health services. 21,000 voices joined the call.

The support the campaign received was amazing, and showed that there is a growing movement for reform of mental health services.

Ireland’s public mental health teams are still under-staffed and struggling to meet increased demand. Now, more than ever, we need to continue to work together for change.

What we do works. We have united the community and voluntary sector in our 39-member coalition and brought together thousands of individual mental health supporters. We have successfully fought to protect mental health in the last three budgets and we continue to advocate at high levels in the Government, the Oireachtas and the HSE.

Please keep supporting our campaigns. We’ve already had an impact, and with your help we’ll keep mental health on the agenda next year.
