October!

Dear all,

As you can see, the newsletter has a new look! The main cause for this was the fantastic photo shoot I had in September with Jan and Tinne of Lemmert Photography. It was a pleasure to work with them and I am very happy with the resulting photos! You can see a couple in their Facebook album album, but I am sure you will see more of them pop up from time to time as well :)

The website is also being renewed, which also means that I will remain confined to the computer for a while longer. Luckily I do enjoy the process once I get started - a good workout and stretching will get the poor muscles to their flexible selves again soon enough :)

New movie online
Autumn has started with two great events! The La Magie de l'Orient Festival in Luxembourg, organized by Asrar, was a great succes!

In addition, I was invited as a guest dancer in the show hosted by Farah Bakkali, based in Brussels, named: "C'est le vent qui me l'a raconté". Given the fact that this was to be a fusion bellydance show, Farah had asked me to perform to any music... except bellydance music! I chose the song in a heartbeat.... the choreography however... was a different matter :) But persistence pays, and I am very proud to show you this video:

Group lessons
As most of you know, I do not teach weekly classes because my schedule is too hectic. However, I do teach classes on request: if you want to take one or more classes with a group of friends, we can compare calendars to look for possible dates. This may be in my studio in Huldenberg (3040 in Belgium) or at any location agreed upon.
You can also simply express your interest to participate in group lessons, and then I'll contact you myself if I receive multiple requests from the same area! Check this page for all details and to get in touch!

Planned classes and performances
Autumn brings exciting events! I hope to meet you (again) on one of the following dates:

19th October 2013: Student reunion, Ghent (BE)
On 19th October, I organize another reunion for everybody who has ever taken classes with me! The purpose.... dancing together (I will teach a workshop from 16h to 18h) but also to catch up and to have a nice meal together afterwards! Sounds good, right? 25th to 28th October 2013: Festival: Celebrating Dance, Torquay (UK)
I am very happy and honoured to be invited to teach and perfom again at the wonderful Celebrating Dance festival in England. There's always a lovely athmosphere, and the Halloween weekend tends to provide a surprise or two :) Hope to see you there!

15th November 2013: Masterclass with Queenie, Huldenberg (BE)
After a succesful first edition in August, I will teach another masterclass in November! Working on precision and clean technique will be key. Several subjects will be covered, based on your questions and requests! It's also possible to show your current project/choreography/performance for feedback if you want! Take a look at the practical details!

8th December 2013: Queenie Day – Special Edition!, Tervuren (BE)
I am planning another workshop day, this time on Sunday 8th December. This is not just a random date: it is the one and only Queenie Day of the year! :) The program holds three workshops: Drill for Skill, Armed and Fabulous, and an Oriental Choreography. 13th to 16th December 2013: Festival: Fantasia, London (UK)
Very looking forward to teach workshops and to perform at Fantasia, Londons Bellydance Festival! Make sure to visit the Fantasia website for the workshop time table and information about the gala show and competitons!
