Imagine Tomorrow

BSU President Dr. Richard A. Hanson, along with university officials and alumni leaders, announced Sept. 27 that Imagine Tomorrow, the university's first-ever comprehensive campaign, has raised $25.4 million toward its $35 million goal. The announcement came during BSU's annual Honors Gala, attended by about 450 faculty, staff, alumni and friends at Bemidji's Sanford Center.

Imagine Tomorrow has raised $5.67 million for annual support; $2.8 million for academic excellence; and $11.53 million for scholarships. Another $5.39 million has been received but is not yet designated toward one of the campaign's three primary goals.

Beaver Athletics Update

For the 14th time, the Bemidji State Beavers were able to participate in one of the greatest traditions in college football -- jumping into Lake Bemidji following a win in the school's annual Homecoming game. An 8-play, 55-yard drive in the game's final minute, capped by a 37-yard field goal, gave BSU a 41-40 victory over the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. BSU has won six of its last seven Homecoming games and is 14-5 on Homecoming since starting the traditional lake-jump victory celebration.
