Oct 2013 Newsletter
There are just 2 weeks to go until the branch Annual General Meeting in Bath and all local lifesavers are invited! I'd especially like to encourage our younger lifesavers to attend - this is your chance to see what the branch has done over the last year and help shape the future of lifesaving in the area. I look forward to seeing you there!

RLSS West Region Competition
Four competitors from the Branch took part in the RLSS West Region heats of the National Lifesaving Championships and I'm pleased to report that three of them will be representing the region at the National Finals in Sheffield! Well done team!
Keynsham Youth Fest
Several members of Keynsham LSC attended the recent Keynsham Youth Fest. They recruited new members, spread the water safety message and raised money by selling these delicious lifesaving-themed cupcakes! You can check out more great photos from the Youth Fest on their Facebook Group.
Thornbury Rookie Festival
Forty rookies took part in a lifesaving festival to celebrate 20 years of Rookies at Thornbury. Visiting competitors from Keynsham LSC joined rookies from Thornbury in a series of obstacle relays, body board swims and rope-throws - all followed by a delicious BBQ! Happy Birthday Thornbury!
University News
The new term has now started at the universities in Bristol and Bath. Both of the lifesaving clubs have been busily recruiting new members and planning loads of exciting activities for the year ahead. The A&NW Branch enjoys strong links with both clubs and we were pleased to be able to supply them with promotional banners and water-safety leaflets for their Freshers' Fairs. With the first competition of the BULSCA calendar just 3 weeks away, we wish both clubs every success for the coming year! Good luck guys!
