Bramford Bulbs Buried
1st November 2013
Morning folks,
I hope this finds you well and not too windswept after Monday's storm.
This week we start our roundup with an appeal:
If anyone finds a hazel tree in need of a new home please bring it on down to Bramford where we can offer a secure spot in our hazel arbour. Thanks to Jenny for the brilliant artwork.
Last Sunday Kelly expertly orchestrated a prodigious bulb planting session. Around 400 tulips and crocuses are now buried at Bramford. With more to add in November we're getting excited about spring already.
So, what's left to tackle this weekend?
-
more bulbs believe it or not
-
more staccys thinning
-
more planting preparation
-
leaf raking
-
general tidying
If any of the above sounds like a worthy way to spend your Sunday we look forward to seeing you from 12 - 2pm.
For those who prefer a spot of armchair gardening at this time of year why not consult this British Wild Flower Plants authority? Their catalogue has a comprehensive guide to Britain's native flowers and provides a useful resource for anyone planning a wildflower area next year. In fact there's enough reading to keep you occupied until Bramford's bulbs bloom in the spring.
Thanks for supporting your community garden. Until next time...
Go well, go green,
Ollie
