... as inaugural edition of ICDI women empowerment programmes launches in landmark style in London.
LONDON, UK: The Nigerian House and the Brixton Town Centre in London, United Kingdom got abuzz on Friday 28th September, 2013 as the Nigeria Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency, Ambassador (Dr.) Dalhatu Tafida, OFR, CFR., and Mayor of Lambeth, Rt. Hon. Cllr. Mark Bennett, took turn to host the ICDI - International Women's Leadership Development Conference delegation, in a uniquely separate first-of-its-kind courtesy events, which highlights the Nigerian community's resolve to continually empower women and promote opportunities for her globally as the 21st century demands.
International Centre for Development Initiatives (ICDI) UK in collaboration with its Nigeria partner Leading Edge Academy (LEA) has put together the 5-day International Conference programme at the Premier Inn, London Heathrow btetween 23 - 27 September, 2013 , to bring together potential and women leaders, good governance practitioners and advocates who aims to share research, knowledge and experience that exist around the globe in the areas of women’s leadership, management and strategic development. The conference aimed at building capacities for women’s leadership and good governance advocacy, and focuses on learning, in identifying women’s leadership opportunities, and efficiently preparing potential women leaders for their roles in governance, politics, and education, and in society as a whole.
Amongst many of the professional delegates and high profile personalities from the Nigeria development community who attended the conference, includes first lady of Adamawa state, Dr. Halima Murtala Nyako, and first lady of Taraba state, Hajia Jamila Garba Umar.
