Looking back at 2013, and to the future

Autumn leavesWith November already half gone, it's starting to feel like the end of the year pressures (and hopefully the joys) are nearly upon us. One of the fun challenges for me next month is to build out a list of top articles for the year. There's no science to our "best of" list - I consider a combination of factors including popularity, what topics were most impactful, and which articles were most successful in connecting with readers. I try to call out a mix of content, both the "newsy" stuff and the type of expert insight that contributors like you are uniquely positioned to contribute.

If you have written something for us this year, thank you. If you have not, there is still time to share something you have learned, something you have built, taught, and shared with others, or just a reflection on your year in the Dynamics community. Thanks as always for your support.

Take the Fall 2013 Reader Survey

Please consider sharing your views in our new reader survey, which launched a few days ago.  It should only take five to ten minutes to complete it and you'll get a copy of the report and a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card for your trouble. (Did you see the results of our Spring 2013 survey? If not, ping me for a copy.) You are one of the most knowledgeable Dynamics professionals we know (that's why you are on this list), so your views would be a great addition to the data set. And after reviewing the survey, we'd love to have your feedback on how to make the next one more valuable.

Webcast audiences are growing: Be a presenter next time around!

We are within a few weeks of wrapping up our various Fall 2013 webcast series, and they have been our best attended so far, with some sessions topping out at well over 250 attendees. I credit outstanding presenters with bringing us fresh ideas, as well as our good fortune at having an inquisitive, responsive user base that keeps growing.

After the new year we will be launching new webcast series focused on themes including CRM, BI, financial management, manufacturing, and (hopefully) more.  We invite you to propose sessions that are either specific to the capabilities of one Dynamics product or more generally focused on a topic of interest.  Session presenters get full access to their session registration list, as well as data on any in-session polls, questions, and other interactive elements.

Article Idea: Your 2014 predictions

Maybe you're not a fortune teller. Maybe you are. But have you set any goals for 2014 yet?  Do you have any wishes for your clients, your co-workers, or your own professional development in the new year as it relates to Microsoft Dynamics?  Write something about it for MSDW - could be a full article, could be a short clip - and let us know how you'd like it to be shared with our readers.
