North Canton Public Library Explore the World

In November, we're exploring the world of giving & community!

This month, we're partnering with the Canton Chapter of the Foundation for Community Betterment to encourage patrons to participate in acts of giving and to demonstrate how small acts of kindness can have a ripple effect.

Use your “explore the world” guidebooks, and receive special incentives for participating in programs and activities throughout the month. Adults and teens will receive a special “Be The Good” print and children will receive a Lemonade Ripple starter kit. One lucky participant will receive a $100 donation made to their favorite Stark County 501c3 charity courtesy of North Canton’s CKP Heating & Cooling.

In partnership with Betterment, the following programs will be offered:
Promoting Community Betterment through Random Acts of Kindness
Wednesday, November 6 from 6-7 p.m.
Come learn about the Foundation for Community Betterment and how you can easily join their Random Acts of Kindness movement. Register to attend at 330.499.4712 x311.

Community Involvement Fair
Saturday, November 16 from 12-2:30 p.m.
Join us and meet with organizations seeking volunteers as we enter the “season of giving.” Kindness crafts for children include bird feeders, giving jars, cheers for heroes and lollipop bouquets.  Prize opportunities and refreshments will be available for all.

“Lemonade Ripple” for children 5 and older
Saturday, November 9 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Betterment’s book, The Lemonade Ripple, is a great way to introduce children to the act of giving. At this program, there will be kindness crafts and all children will receive their own lemonade ripple starter kit. Register to attend at 330.499.4712 x318

In partnership with Project REBUILD, the library will host a “Warm Paws” dog house building project November 18 and 19 at 4:30 p.m. Teens and middle school students will build and paint dog houses to be donated to the Stark County Humane Society for distribution to dogs in our community who do not have proper housing.  Teens and middle schoolers can register to participate at 330.499.4712 x311.

Please explore with us! It’s so easy: Each month, the library’s special incentives are possible thanks to an “exploration” partner. In November, the Canton Chapter of the Foundation for Community Betterment is providing this support, with assistance from CKP Heating & Cooling.

See all of the options for participating this month.

Mark your calendars and join us for the Community Involvement Fair. Fun, giving, crafts, refreshments and prizes!
