Girlcat Scout Uniforms Now Available

If you're a girlcat who wants a more fem look for the uniform, you're in luck. The new Girlcat Scout uniforms have arrived. In the Cat Scout spirit of inclusion, boycats are welcome to don these uniforms as well.

Customize Your Profile's Background

You now have the ability to customize your profile page with a snappy background. Just go to Profile > Edit from the dropdown in the upper left corner of your screen. Next to the "Change Avatar" tab there is a Change Background tab. Hit it and follow the prompts. You might need to play around with the tiling options to get it to display the way you want.

Cat Scout of the Week

Things have settled down a bit after last week's fierce competition between Scout Raz and Scout Jake. Scout Sushi was selected as the 10/27 Cat Scout of the Week. Sushi has been one of the most enthusiastic Cat Scouts we’ve ever had, consistently appearing among the leaders in activity points and merit badges. Read all about Sushi's accomplishments here.

And the Cat Scout of the Week this week is Scout Mauricio. Scout Mauricio has been tops in activity points nearly every week, and has earned nearly all of his merit badges.

Mauricio scored big bonus points by taking one for the team and dressing in a frou frou fairy princess outfit for Halloween. He's always quick to offer a salute or paw clasp to fellow scouts, and a regular around The Campfire in the evenings.

But, more importantly, he is instrumental in supporting fellow members of his troop, the Worldwide Wildcats. We think he's swell.

Cat Scout of the Month:

Scout Raz is the Cat Scout of the Month. He has been an exemplary Cat Scout since he joined, quickly accumulating merit badges, but more importantly, providing support and guidance to other scouts.

Scout Raz has proven himself to be a born leader. He rallied his troop mates in the Worldwide Wildcats to pawticipate in the Halloween Spirit contest, is an extremely active pawticipant in Cat Scout groups and activities, and has been instrumental in purrmoting Cat Scouts to his many online fans. Since he joined Cat Scouts, he has consistently been one of the top activity point winners each week.

Scout Raz will appear in an illustration in The Cat Scout Handbook. Read more about Scout Raz here.

It is scouts like Scout Raz, Scout Sushi and Scout Mauricio that make cat scouting so pawpular!

Troop Leaders Can Now Mass-Message the Troops

Thanks to a feature request, we've given troop leaders the ability to send a mass-email message to all members of the troop. They've promised not to spam the troops, so we think this will really help rally fellow scouts for events like the Cardwood Derby!

Cardwood Derby

The Cardwood Derby begins on 11/15 and will run through the weekend. The Cardwood Derby is a fast-paced competition that challenges Cat Scouts to design and drive their own sleek cardboard race cars.

Details on the Cardwood Derby are here.

FIRST PLACE:
  • Genuine Personalized Cat Scouts Trophy
  • Official Cat Scouts Garrison Cap
  • Official Cat Scouts Neckerchief and Woggle
  • Karma points: 50 (in addition to the 25 you get for entering)
  • Activity points: 100  (in addition to the 50 you get for entering)
  • Invitation to join the first group of scouts testing to advance from Tenderpaw to Bobcat rank.
  • An illustration of you in your car in The Cat Scout Handbook.
There are 2nd and 3rd place prizes, too. And there's a troop prize! At the end of the contest, pawticipating members of the troop with the highest average number of points (total points earned divided by number of troop members) will each win an Official Cat Scouts Neckerchief and Woggle, 10 Karma points and 25 Activity points.

Cat Scout Neckerchiefs!

The official Cat Scouts Neckerchiefs have arrived and will be ready to award to winners of The Cardwood Derby. If you don't win one, they will be available for purchase (with woggles) later this month in the Cat Scout Gear Store.

Halloween Winners

Wow, what an amazing Halloween Spirit pawty we had! 40 Cat Scouts pawticipated, and were chomping at the bit to find out who won. The Denmaster enlisted the services of five volunteer judges, whose choices were as diverse as the entries. So, we are awarding a few more prizes than originally anticipated.

Grand Prize Winner: Strollercat Jake. Great photos, great poses, great costumes.
Best Costume: Trouble. Yee haw, Ride 'em Cowboy! We loved the tweed pants and the bang bang gun.
Best Troop: Worldwide Wildcats

Other Awards:

Newman: Would have been a contender for best in show, but he was wearing the same outfit (kingly crown and cape) that he likely wears around the house every day as part of his H.O.H. duties. However, he looked so great, we're giving him points.
Gracie: Funniest costume honors for her impurrsonation of a cow
Tiger: Most beautiful
Shoko: Most bedeviling
Wren and Sierra: Most bewitching
Mauricio: May have to sell treats on a card table in front of the supermarket this Spring!
Sushi: Most original
Angel: Most dashing pirate
Allie and Raz: Best videos
Loiosh: We just couldn't get over those wings!

Merit badges have been distributed, and winner points will be awarded this weekend.

Invitations to Advance from Tenderpaw to Bobcat Rank

Are you ready to take the test to advance from Tenderpaw to Bobcat? There was a delay in announcing the select group of Cat Scouts who will be invited to take the test, but we will officially announce them on 11/15. Study up on Cat Scout lore here.
