More than enough bad news, but Sally Derrick refused to give up and instead help found Sally's Hope where 100% of donations go to help families coping with cancer. To date, Sally's Hope has donated over $6,00 to families and operates on a total volunteer staff.

EARLY DETECTION IS KEY

When TV host Amy Robach agreed to have a mammogram performed live on Good Morning America, the last thing the 40-year-old expected to find was a evidence of breast cancer. The doctors told her bluntly, "That mammogram just saved your life."

Here at Growing Bolder, this gave us flashbacks to when Wendy Chioji was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Wendy credits another Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts, with inspiring her to get a mammogram done. Twelve years later, Wendy took time to reflect on that diagnosis and her "Growing Bolder" moment.
