Introducing!

Sam Martin

In October we welcomed Sam Martin to our Student Ministry Staff as our new 5th & 6th Grade Minister!!  We couldn’t be more excited about this addition!!
Sam is a long-time Student Ministry volunteer here at Christ’s Church, and has served in all areas of 5th-12th grade.  He is a grad of Ozark Christian College & Missouri Southern with an education degree.  He is married to Rachel and they have a sweet little baby named Justus!  If you see him, please welcome him too!!

Adam Everett

Adam  will be joining our Student Ministry team in mid-December as the new 9th-12th Grade Minister!!  He has been serving in a youth ministry in Houston, TX for the past 3 years, and in Tampa, FL at Common Ground Christian Church before that.  Adam is a graduate of Lincoln Christian College.  He is married to Sherri and they have 2 awesome dogs!  We look forward to welcoming them next month!

We want to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteers and parents who have jumped in to help with the Student Ministry this past year!  We are humbled and so thankful for your love for Jesus, your love for students and your love for Christ's Church of Oronogo.  We truly could not do this without you!!!

Stuff You Should Know!

Baptism Class

On the 3rd Sunday of each month, we hold a Baptism Class in the Student Ministry Center classroom C.  This is for parents & students who want to know more about baptism here at Christ's Church of Oronogo.  Our next class is Sunday, November 17.  If you are interested in attending the class, contact Luke Green for more information.

November Holiday Dates

We will not have Elevate or Echo on Wednesday, November 27.
We will not have 7th-12th Grade Core Classes on Sunday, December 1.
We will have 5th & 6th Grade Core Classes on Sunday December 1.

Core Classes @ 9:45am on Sundays

It is our desire that students encounter God through studying His Word, in hopes of following Jesus more closely, the more they get to know Him. This is at the Core, who we long to be here at Christ’s Church! Each Sunday morning we offer age level Core Classes for students.
 - 5th & 6th Grade meet in the Core Class hallway to the left of the Youth & Children's Center in the Main Building
 - 7th & 8th Grade meet in the Student Ministry Center classroom A
 - 9th-12th Grade meet in the Student Ministry Center classroom B
We sell small breakfast items in the Student Ministry Center Cafe each Sunday morning.

Fall Retreat

November 22-23, 2013

WHY WE RETREAT
Getting out of our normal environment is a great way to let God speak to us!
At this retreat, we’ll compete in some fun games to help us understand that God has equipped us to give Him all glory by surrendering our crowns to Him!

1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Run in such a way to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the game goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Believe

Believe is a 2-day jr high only event, designed to amplify the call of Christ on students lives to become Kingdom workers.
We love this event for our 7th & 8th grade students because it gets them out of their normal environment to spend time with youth leaders who love them, and to experience Jesus in a new & unique way.
During this year’s Believe tour, students will look at some parables from Luke – such as the lost sheep and how God pursues them, the great banquet and how God includes them, and the good Samaritan and how God sends them to be Kingdom workers now.

SuperStart!

February 21-22, 2014

SuperStart! is a 2-day pre-teen event, designed to amplify the call of Christ on students lives to become Kingdom workers.
We love this event for our5th & 6th grade students because it gets them out of their normal environment to spend time with youth leaders who love them, and to experience Jesus in a new & unique way.
This year at SuperStart!, preteens will come to understand that true value is only found in God. They will join a crew of crack-brained filmmakers attempting to capture this idea that God treasures them and has done everything he can to show them how valuable they are to him.
