Ever watched March Madness & flipped to an NBA game?

The veteran players seem to move in slow motion compared to the frenzied energy of the college teams. Yet nothing beats the collective experience and insight of the pros, and getting to see the legends of the game.

I felt like that going from the Net Impact conference -- 2,500 MBA students and young alumni passionate about changing the world -- to the BSR conference, the annual gathering of CSR and sustainability professionals.

Dan Fibiger of Gap Inc. nicely summed up the inspirational Net Impact vibe and our panel on supply chains.

And here's my Storify summary of my BSR debate with Arvind Ganesan from Human Rights Watch on the value of collaborative initiatives (a debate that I suspect would have been too esoteric for the Net Impact crowd).

In other recent news: On November 3rd I ran my first marathon. Here's my blog post on training for a marathon and writing a book at the same time.

I’d love to hear from you, on this and whatever else is on your mind. Please hit 'reply' at any time with your thoughts and join me on Twitter and Facebook.

Coming up

This Wednesday I'll be at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre event in New York on labor rights in Bangladesh, then Thursday at Duke for the Kenan Institute of Ethics. Will I see you?

Available for pre-order!

I would love for you to order my book on the official launch date of March 25. (Don't worry, I'll remind you.) But some advance sales are helpful to signal how many amazon.com should order. Because there's nothing worse than getting excited about a book and finding it out of stock, right?
