Big data and innovation workshop
On October, 16th, SystemX hosted the R&D group organized by Orange Business Services. All participants, Vincent Bastid and Olivier Vandenbilcke (BNP Paribas), Denis de Carville (Xerox), Renaud Di Francesco (Sony), Michel Revest (Covea), Philippe Eon and Régine Trabelsi (Orange Business Services), François Stephan (SystemX), gave their input about the trendy topic of Big Data and went around the challenges to address, the opportunities and the pitfalls to be avoided.

Ambition PME
The fifth edition of the "Journée Ambition PME" took place on November, 5th and gathered 350 people. This annual event is dedicated to innovative SMEs located in the Paris Region. This year, the theme was export growth and the goal was to give SMEs some keys to expand abroad with Edith Cresson as special guest. More information here.
The Prime Minister on the Saclay Plateau
Jean-Marc Ayrault spent a day at Saclay for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new EDF's research center. He also gave a speech at Supélec to announce the SATT Paris-Saclay (Technology Transfer Acceleration Company) official creation and, more generally, to confirm the government's support in the Saclay project.

R&D projects
ELA project
The project adresses new technological and economical challenges generated by the connected car and the advanced driver assistance systems.
More precisely, ELA project (Electronique et Logiciel pour l'Automobile - Automautive Electronics and Software) aims at defining architectural patterns, designing methodology definition and developing necessary tools.

FSF project
Pascal Poisson as spokeperson for Alstom and SystemX gave a talk at the international conference UCAAT about validation of critical embedded systems, their implementation process and the first outputs. He took FSF project (Fiabilitié et Sûreté de fonctionnement - Safe and Reliable embedded Systems) as an example to focus on conception of critical embedded systems. Find out more about UCAAT.
LRA project
The kick-off of LRA project (Localisation - Réalité Augmentée - Localization - Augmented Reality) occured on October, 14th. Sabine Langlois, from Renault, acts today as project manager.
The Forge
The Forge is a SystemX's transversal project run by Paolo Crisafulli, SystemX senior research engineer, whose aim is to provide collaborative tools to manage software's development life cycle. A first version with restricted access is already used by FSF (Scade license server and Git, a source version control system) and ROM projects (Model Center license server). The forge will be useful to reduce developers' manual operations and structure the development process. |
