JANETTE GORNEY ...
From: I was born in Huntington Beach, California; I grew up in the mountains of northern Arizona and lived for several years in Portland, Oregon.
Lives: I currently live in Malibu, California.
Work: I am an artist, photographer, designer, writer and mystic.
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A: The discovery and exploration of amazing landscapes and wild places, experiencing wild creatures in their natural habitat, capturing an extraordinary moment with my camera, witnessing the miracle of love and life in action, connecting and laughing with my friends and family, meeting new people, learning new things, traveling to new and exotic places, fresh organic produce, puppies and knowing I've had a positive influence on the life of another living being. Just to name a few.
Q. Your experience doing jumping photos?
A: Amazing and so much fun! Eyoalha inspired me to just let go and play. It was truly an awesome and “uplifting” experience. I felt airborne, elated, loved and free!
Q: What inspires you in life?
A: People who live their life authentically and passionately with a conscious commitment to making the world a better, more loving and beautiful place for all living beings.
Q: Your greatest passion?
A: To witness, create, share and inspire others to recognize the extraordinary beauty and love that exists in our everyday lives and within ourselves.I believe there is tremendous value, strength and energy in having a heightened awareness of the abundant gifts that appear in our daily world -invoking gratitude, a transformational life force.
Q: Your driving force?
A: Love.What else is there, really?
Q: Your philosophy?
A: Listen to and follow your heart.
Q: Anything in the world?
A: Travel the world making a service contribution everywhere I go. Capture my experiences in photography; express, share and write about them on my blog, in books, magazines, public talks, workshops and beyond. Allow my photography, words and actions inspire others to make a heart felt difference in this world and to live their dream as their life purpose. This is what I presently feel called to do. I will have this launched and in effect by early 2014.
Q: What are you working on?
A: I am currently working on new designs for a small U.S. fashion bag company. I am revamping, redesigning and rebirthing my blog from an artistic, nature photography blog into an inspirational photography and travel blog. I am also in the midst of creating a sacred feminine photography project. www.volantphotographyart.com
Q: Mini bio, interesting facts about you or something special you want to share.
A: Arizona, Oregon and California are all home to me. I am an avid traveler. I have a BA in both Psychology and Sociology and MA in Spiritual Psychology. My professional and life experiences have been diverse and plentiful including those in social work with special needs children and adults, law enforcement as a probation officer and in health care with aging adults. I’ve also enjoyed time as a real estate agent, marketing consultant, spiritual life coach, private chef and personal assistant.
Approximately one year ago I took a leap of faith to follow my heart and propel myself as a creative entrepreneur. My dream of filling my days with writing, painting and photography became a reality. Just a few months ago, I was approached by a friend to assist in the development of a new line of fashion bags and voilà! - virtually overnight I became a handbag designer to boot! My designs will be available in the U.S., Europe and Canada in 2014.
Life has been and continues to be an extraordinary journey. I am excited, open to and grateful for the infinite blessings, adventures and opportunities! It all just simply makes me … jump for joy!
