RLSS Honours
Congratulations to everyone who  travelled up to the Guildhall in London last month to collect their RLSS Honours. Service honours are awarded to volunteers for continuous years of service to their club or the society (4, 8, 12 or more years). Merit honours are awarded for contribution at club, branch or regional level. To nominate someone that you know, please see http://rlsswest.org.uk/west-region/honours/
Lifesaving Instructor / Rookie Instructor Courses - 23 & 24 Nov 2013

RLSS Avon & North Wiltshire AGM
The RLSS  A&NW AGM was a great success. Four different clubs came to pitch their ideas to our team of "Dragons". So, who walked away with the cash, and who left the Den empty handed? You can find out in this report on the RLSS website.
University Lifesaving News
 The new term has now started at the universities in Bristol and Bath. The first competition of the Uni calendar took place in Warwick, where Bristol Uni made a fantastic start to the season, finishing second in the A-team league. Check out the full results (including a win in the swim-and-tow!) here. It's Bristol's turn to host next - let's hope they can continue their success on home ground. Good luck guys!

Local Projects
The A&NW branch has a list of drowning prevention projects which we'd like to run. These projects will all directly benefit lifesavers and the communities in the A&NW branch. Unfortunately, we haven't got sufficient volunteers to run all of the projects. Most of them only require a short-term commitment and a few hours effort each week. If you'd like to help out, please take a look at the list of projects and contact david@rlsswest.org.uk if you'd like to help.
National Championships

Bristol Uni Comp

Bristol University LSC will be holding their annual competition on Sat 16 Nov 2013. Six teams from RLSS West Region community clubs are entered, which is unprecedented. If you'd like to come and support (or volunteer to act as a body or runner) please contact bristolunilifesaving@gmail.com.
Community Instructor Course

RLSS A&NW plan to run a Community Instructors course at Bath Uni on 8 Dec 2013. This will allow you to deliver the Save a Baby's Life and Community Lifesupport awards. Please contact david@rlsswest.org.uk if you'd like to come along.
