Dear Vancouver-Point Grey:
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to my new role as the MLA for Vancouver Point Grey! I’ve had such a great time attending community events, and meeting so many wonderful and talented neighbours.
You may have passed our new office at 2909 West Broadway, located at the old 10,000 Villages store site. If you haven’t had a chance yet, stick your head in the door and check us out. Remember, our office is strictly non-partisan. This means that everyone is welcome; we’re a public office, and our staff and I are here to serve this community.
If you’re interested in helping build a stronger neighbourhood, joining a workshop of interest that we’re hosting, or if you need help with a provincial government issue, we’d love to hear from you.
Yours truly,

What's happening in VPG?
1. Save the Hollywood Theatre
David hosted the first series of meetings for the Save the Hollywood Theatre coalition to try to work with the new owner of the Hollywood and the city to protect the building as a place for community events.
2. Jericho Hill land sale
David raised the land deal during the “Estimates” process in the Legislature with the Minister responsible, Andrew Wilkinson. Minister Wilkinson promised to consult the community before any sale of the provincial half of the property moved ahead. David continues to monitor the sale and will be raising the issue again in the February session of the legislature.
3. Support for families of drowning victims
David is working with a constituent who lost a family member in a drowning tragedy this past summer. They are working to pressure the Provincial government to help coordinate the RCMP and coroner’s office to improve responses and technology available to try to recover loved ones lost in deep water.
