The Kindu-Meketa Bakery

Bread is the most consumable wheat based product in northern Ethiopia, and its consumption is increasing rapidly with suppliers unable to meet the demand. In partnership with Meketa, The Kindu Trust will launch its first bakery in Gondar's town employing up to 20 adults from sponsored families. This presents a fantastic business opportunity for sponsored families to be trained in baking and business management before operating their own bakery - financially supporting themselves and improving their livelihoods.

 Dear Friends,

The Big Give's Christmas Challenge kicks off in just 20 hours!

We have successfully raised £5,000 in pledges, and tomorrow is the final stage of the challenge: to reach our target of £10,000 in on-line donations! We need your help to raise the remaining funds and create long term employment for the parents of sponsored children.

What does that mean?

Any donation you make on the morning of the 5th, 6th, 7th December will be doubled, and have twice the impact.

Why we’re doing this?

The funds will be used to open a bakery in Gondar. The bakery will train and employ 20 adults from sponsored families and will provide long term employment - improving livelihoods. Full details about the bakery can be found on our Big Give page.

How to donate

To have your gift doubled, donate between 10:00 am - 11:30 am on the 5th, 6th or 7th December by clicking here.

If you wish to discuss our Challenge please contact Dilys Winterkorn at the UK Office on 07956 532 067 or email dilys@kindutrust.org.

Thank you for anything you can do to help us to achieve this mission.

With best wishes,

The Kindu Trust Team
