WINTER HOURS AND GARDEN ACTIVITIES
Elizabeth Street Garden Volunteers wish you and yours a truly Happy Thanksgiving. Among our many blessings, we are thankful for the invaluable experience we have gained through our journey with you to preserve public, green open space in our neighborhood!
Winter Hours
As dusk comes upon us earlier and earlier each day, we have new Winter hours — daily from noon until 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. Unlike most community gardens which shutter their gates from October through April, we are providing access year round. Please continue to visit and enjoy.
Gardening Activities
We have completed gardening activities for the year and prepared the Garden for Winter. Devoted volunteers finished planting bulbs for Spring blooming. Renowned arborist Gary Gentili and his expert crew from The Care of Trees pruned the mature flowering pear trees, repairing previous storm damage and improving their health and stability.
Decorating the Garden
Even though the Garden rests, we don’t.… Come out and help us decorate this Sunday, December 1st, at noon. Seasonal wreaths and garlands have been generously donated by local businesses Le Labo, Lovely Day, Unis and Fox Fodder Farm.
