November Newsletter

Afternoon Woofs!

Welcome to the November newsletter bringing you all the latest goings on from the BorrowMyDoggy Kennel and across the doggy world.

Since we last spoke...

November has been a wagnificent month here at BorrowMyDoggy with lots of lovely members making friends (human and doggy alike!) via the new matching system. We’ve kept our paws busy launching exciting new features and our first doggy competition, high paws!

Many of your pooches have dusted off their dancing shoes and donned their feather boas as we launched our first competition - Pooch Factor 2013! It’s already been a howling success, with over 100 of you entering photos of your pupstars showing off their star quality. If your doggy (owned or borrowed) really is the new 'Gary Barklow', then why not enter them for the chance to win some pawsome prizes?

We recently discovered that you all lap-up photos of cute dogs (who doesn't?) and therefore added a multiple photo upload feature. Introducing lots of new pupdates to our site based on our members feedback is something we love doing and we hope you enjoy using this new feature.

Would you be happy to give us a helping paw? Our Tech Puppy is currently sniffing around for some London based members to come in, have a chat with us and try out some new features we're about to launch. If you'd be happy to help, then it'd be pawsome if you could send us an email to woofwoof@borrowmydoggy.com.

We wish you all an absowoofly wonderful December with all of your celebrations, and we hope Santa Paws brings you and your doggy everything you could wish for.

Woofs and tail-wags,

The BorrowMyDoggy Team

Glow in the Park!

Now that winter is drawing in and the nights are getting longer, you need to make sure that you and your doggy set a good example with some light-up accessories! We had a look around and found some great sites that sell just these.

Leutchie
Revolutionary LED collars that light up as soon as you put them on your dog. They come in all different shapes and sizes, and you can even choose what colour you want.

Muddy Paws clothing
A huge range of high-visibility clothing for your lovable pooch, including jackets harnesses and even scarves so there’s something out there for everyone.

Glo-balls
Does your dog simply love a game of fetch more than anything in the park at night? With glo-balls (yes, a glow in the dark tennis ball!), you don’t have to worry about losing them. They don't need charging, simply expose them to some light and you’re ready to go. They even float too.

Barks out in the press

It's been a great month with some lovely people woofing about BorrowMyDoggy, in the Mail on Sunday and the Saturday Telegraph, as a way to share your pooch with loving borrowers who will give them extra cuddles and walkies.

November was also exciting as we were able to share the absowoofly wonderful news that the BorrowMyDoggy family has expanded. We now have three very kind DogFathers who have invested to help us grow and leave more 'Pawprints of Happiness' on the lives of dogs and people. Their 'treats' have already helped us build the platform we recently launched, and we are so thankful for their wonderful support. The pawsome news was featured in the Tech City News.

Finally, we were honoured to be shortlisted for The Good Web Guide’s ‘Website of the Year’ Award. Although we didn't win we are so thankful to all of you, our lovely community, for the votes and ongoing support. We can't wait to continue on growing BorrowMyDoggy over the coming months to fulfil our aim of having a positive impact on more dogs and people's lives.

Doggy of the month

Walter Lulu

Breed: Beagle
About Lulu: She is perfectly natured and loves socialising with other dogs. She loves her food more than anything, and will often be seen howling at the top of her voice in the park if she sees someone eating, it's her way of asking for some. She's very true to her breed and is in her element when she's part of a pack!

Borrower of the month

Andréa Linn

Experience: After spending many years looking after friends' dogs, my parents finally gave in when I was 12 and brought me my own Westie. I have experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I love them all.
Why did you sign up?
For me, it was love at first sight when I got my own dog. There is not a dog that I don't have the love for in my heart, and if I could then I would own every one of them on earth. I'm originally from Sweden, and ever since moving to London not a day has gone past without me missing having a dog in my life.

If you or your doggy would like to feature in our newsletter then please email us at woofwoof@borrowmydoggy.com
