2013 AustCham Beijing Scholars embark on new endeavours.
As 2013 comes to a close, AustCham Beijing and our corporate partners start to say goodbye to our 2013 AustCham China Scholars. As these bright young gentlemen start on new paths in their professional careers, some of them have been taking on challenges a little more risky than most...
Michael Gubieski, a 2013 Scholar who currently works with AustCham member company China Policy, took on some of Beijing's toughest white collar workers in the Brawl on the Wall last month. Working men and women from around Beijing had been hitting the gym hard in the last three months to prepare for the huge night of entertainment, with proceeds from the night going to a local charity. While Michael narrowly lost the fight in a controversial points decision, he remained upbeat: "Charity was the real winner... Charity and the guy in red."

New Member Profile- OASIS Beijing
Website
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Guillaume Zagury tells AustCham about OASIS International Hospital.
A sleek grand piano stands peacefully in the lobby, surrounded by palm trees and glittering Christmas decorations. This isn’t the entrance to a fancy hotel however, but the entrance to one of Beijing’s high-standard hospitals.
OASIS take pride in making their patients come first, with a 24hour medical team taking care of the 60 beds, and over 2,000 monthly patients. Even with the high number of patents, Dr. Zagury assures us that you won’t be bunking with 5 of your ‘closest’ new friends, with privacy for patients being of top priority.
The team and equipment strictly adhere to international standards, which Dr. Zagury explains is defined by having good patient information, using holistic approaches to health, applying international guidelines, and primary care. Patients are treated with helpful and warm service, with OASIS aiming to make everyone feel at home- no matter where in the world your home may be. Representing the global nature of the hospital, OASIS have qualified doctors speaking a range of languages; from English and Chinese, to Portuguese and Tagalog.
