 Dear Hope Giver,
“Is there anything you want to ask God for?” one of our Hope House counselors asked Chelsea.
But Chelsea didn’t want to answer. In just the few days of being in the safe haven of the Hope House, she’d been treated with more love and respect than in her entire life. She felt to ask for anything else would be selfish. But that wasn’t the only reason. Chelsea was just learning about God…and she wasn’t sure how much she could trust him. Perhaps she was afraid to trust him that much.
Finally, she said, “This may seem really silly, but I’ve never had a pair of black boots. I’ve always wanted some. Can we pray for something like that?”
“Absolutely!” our counselor said, and she took Chelsea’s hands and prayed.
The VERY next day, our Hope House received a call. There had been a fundraiser, and even though it wasn’t a collection of clothing, one donor felt impressed to bring in a few items. And guess what was inside that box? A beautiful pair of black boots size 6.5…EXACTLY Chelsea’s size!
I wonder if when that woman placed those boots into the donation box, she knew what she was really giving was an undeniable lifeline from God to Chelsea? Because Chelsea is forever changed knowing she has a God who not only hears her prayers, but also is eager to show His love for her by answering her specific request.
Friend, when you give a Gift of Hope, you might think you’re just donating money to a worthy cause…but it’s SO MUCH MORE than that. Your gift is reaching into the hearts of our residents and showing them the unconditional love of God. It’s teaching them that even though they’ve seen an ugly side of humanity, there is a whole other side that is ready to help them, love them, support them, and believe in them.
Starting BLACK FRIDAY, you will be able to give a Gift of Hope, and in turn, invest directly into the lives of the human trafficking survivors presently (and future) living at the Hope House. Will you be a part of the Gift of Hope Year-End Campaign this year?
There are so many ways to give:

Ask others to give a Gift of Hope in your name, in lieu of a present.

Give a Gift of Hope in the name of a friend or family member, and we’ll send them a handwritten note informing them of your gift.

Give directly to the Hope House and include a special Christmas note for our precious residents.
We are so thankful for you and hope you will stand with us as we commit to Give HOPE this Christmas!
