Second Grameen PrimaCare Health Fair
We recently organized our second community health and wellness fair in Elmhurst, Queens for Grameen members, their families and friends. Over 600 people attended! Participants enjoyed healthy food and fitness demonstrations, medical and dental screenings, information on community health resources, raffle prizes and much more. We are grateful to our partners, volunteers and friends for their support in making this health fair possible.

Health and Wellness Center Space Update
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a wonderful space in Jackson Heights, Queens where our health and wellness center, Grameen Vida Sana, will be built. Located just minutes from Grameen America's flagship branch office in Queens, the Grameen Vida Sana center will offer high-quality, affordable and comprehensive primary care and other services to Grameen members when it opens for business in 2014.

Meet the Grameen Vida Sana Member Council
To ensure that Grameen Vida Sana throughly reflects customer value, we have formed a volunteer council of ten Grameen America borrowers who are eager to contribute to our program development by providing feedback. Their valuable insight will help guide our final program development phase, enabling Grameen Vida Sana to offer a robust and unique service package that meets the most critical health and wellness needs of Grameen members.

Team Updates
Grameen PrimaCare warmly welcomes our two newest team members - Dr. Diana Ramirez, Family Medicine Doctor and Ms. Brooke Beardslee, VP of Strategy. Welcome, Diana and Brooke!
 Dr. Diana Ramirez
Born and raised in Colombia, Dr. Ramirez is an experienced physician who has spent the past ten years practicing family medicine and working as a HIV specialist in New York. Dr. Ramirez will be in charge of leading the Grameen Vida Sana primary care practice, in addition to shaping program development.
 Ms. Brooke Beardslee
Ms. Beardslee joins Grameen PrimaCare to lead strategy and development, driving fundraising initiatives and strengthening organizational capacity. Ms. Beardslee has years of experience in non-profit management, fundraising, public health and international development.
