Interns serve at a local church

 Over the past two years, we have been blessed to have had three Relevant Ministry interns working at our church – Gulf Coast Worship Center. Each one of them has been a huge blessing to the staff and congregation in different ways. I have had numerous experiences with interns over the years and the Relevant Ministry experience was by far the best. Relevant Ministry helped facilitate a ministry plan with the interns that took into account their individual skills, spiritual gifts, personality and the church’s present needs.
As a pastor, hosting a RM intern was such a joy. There was a real togetherness fostered between each intern and our staff. Relevant walked with us through the entire process and equipped us to be the best host church possible. As a direct result of our experience with Relevant, we have hired one of the interns into a part-time position on staff at the church. He is leading our Kid's Ministries and speaking frequently to our middle and high school students. I would strongly recommend Relevant Ministry to any church looking for a high impact internship experience.

Grilling for God

Last March, Relevant Ministry received a unique donation from three families from Central Illinois. We were gifted a 16-foot grill on wheels that was previously being used for tailgating at Illinois football games.
WOW, this has opened up the door for many outreach opportunities! Most recently, on October 31, the RM team partnered with two churches in the Bay St. Louis area and we grilled hot dogs at a Family Fall Festival; which served over 2,000 people attended. We are excited for the ways that God will open the door for RM to serve communities with this new tool for ministry.

Healthy Leadership
Is the Key to a Healthy Church

For some reason, I am led by the Spirit to spend a lot of time in Ephesians 4. In my Bible, the corner of that chapter is torn and overcome by notes written in pencil of what God has laid on my heart for His Church. In what I gather, God is passionate about His Church and His desire for His Church is to be healthy and thriving. According to verse 11, it takes healthy leadership that is equipped to prepare God’s people to serve together in order to accomplish His will and His purpose; and as a result, His Church will grow together in unity into the image and fullness of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Retreats
at the RM Center

Since we've made the decision to move forward with the purchase of the property in Pass Christian, it seems like the Lord keeps opening new doors. There are so many exciting things happening at the Relevant Ministry Center; and the addition of retreats to our schedule is one of those things.
In the past few months, we have hosted three retreats – a church leadership team, and two different women’s retreats. Here are a few comments from attendees:

ONEday

On Saturday Nov. 16th, RM hosted ONEday, a serving experience for three local student groups on the Gulf Coast.
We spent the day serving at a home in Pass Christian - cutting trees, pouring a concrete pad, repairing a fence, painting; along with many other things. The heart of this event was to bring local churches together as ONE to serve alongside each other and to make an impact in their community. One of the highlights of the day was gathering for a time of worship, sharing and teaching right there in the yard at Mr. Morgan’s, the man whom we were serving. What an awesome day serving together as ONE!
ONEday is a 'one day' event, hosted by RM. ONE-2014, RM's week-long mission experience for high school students is scheduled for June 8-14, 2014.

What one church is doing

As many of you know, RM has been in the midst of capital campaign, raising funds to pay off the remaining amount due on the property in Pass Christian, MS. God has been faithfully bringing in the funds; however, we are still short $25,000 on the amount we owe.
Here is where we would love for you to join us in an effort to push us over the top to reach our goal. Recently, a church connected with us about their idea to do a matching fund offering with their congregation. What a creative idea! If you are a church pastor or a church leader, would you consider this same option? Choose an amount your church is able to match with your congregation and take up an offering one Sunday before the end of the year.
If you are an individual, this can still apply to you. Consider an amount you are willing to send to RM as an end of the year gift towards the property and we will try to find another contributor that is willing to match your amount. This would be an excellent way to get people involved who think the amount they can afford to send won't go far. Many people joining together for one common goal.
The RM Center, just one mile from the beach, on Church Avenue in Pass Christian, MS is the place to come for: retreats, seminars, training events, family servacations, and mission trip experiences.
