Lesson 104: God's Holy Characteristics
Isa.6:3 one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
Exo.15:11 “Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?
God is omnipotent (infinite power), omniscient (complete knowledge), and omnipresent (present everywhere). But holiness is the perfection, the crown, of all God’s other characteristics.
His power is holy. His mercy is holy. His wisdom is holy. His justice is holy. His love is holy.
But God demands more than just recognizing His holiness. He says to us, ‘You be holy.’ We say, “But we can’t.”
God has every right to demand perfect holiness from all people. He cannot ignore any evil; he cannot lower His requirement for holiness.
Hab.1:13 NIV God’s eyes are too pure to look on evil, He cannot tolerate wrong.
God cannot overlook or excuse any sin, no matter how small.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
