Lesson 87: Peace from the Flesh, Part 4
God’s Word is worthless to your conscience, unless you look intently with faith.
Heb.4:2 good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.
If the peace is picky, that’s the flesh talking. You may repent in one area, but not in others.
True believers recognize their Shepherd’s voice.
John 10:4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
If we pray and worship often, and hunger for His words, we become so familiar that His voice is unmistakable.
The world’s best experts in detecting counterfeit money spend all day looking at the real thing. They become so familiar with real money that even a good counterfeit sets off their alarms.
The best way to avoid being deceived by a stranger is to walk closely with the true Shepherd.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
