Prioritising the experiences of children who need help, protection and care - a new single inspection
On the 25^th September Ofsted published its single framework for inspecting local authority services for vulnerable children, examining help, protection and care from the time it is first needed until a young person who is looked after has been successfully helped to start their lives as a young adult. The inspection is universal and will be conducted in a three-year cycle. Coming into effect from November 2013, the framework brings together into one inspection: child protection; services for looked after children and care leavers; and local authority fostering and adoption services...

Cross departmental strategy for young people leaving care.
The strategy was launched to coincide with National Care Leaver’s Week, and is part of a Government drive to improve services for Looked After Children. It aims to provide a more coherent approach to supporting care leavers, who have contact with a range of services as they leave care, but are not always recognised as a priority group.
